"Juxtapose" may be a fancy-sounding verb, but the action it conveys is simple: placing two contrasting things side by side, bringing out their unique properties through comparison.

We've been hinting at this design move in earlier issues, looking at smooth-cheeked pumpkins versus wart-covered gourds, and encouraging the pairing of things that "clash." It's time we face the curious power of juxtaposing head-on.
