In praise of mystery living rooms

The mystery living rooms come out at night. Through the day they're invisible, hidden by reflections on massive panes of glass, but come sunset they begin to light up like jewel boxes.

They're teasing presences, welcoming in appearance but at the same time completely out of reach – unless we have the good fortune to know someone in the building or live there ourselves. In most cases, we can enter with our eyes but not with our bodies.
